NFT Quick Guide

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a record on a blockchain which is associated with a particular digital or physical asset. The ownership of an NFT is recorded in the blockchain, and can be transferred by the owner, allowing NFTs to be sold and traded. NFTs can be created by anybody, and require few or no coding skills to create. NFTs typically contain references to digital files such as photos, videos, and audio. Because NFTs are uniquely identifiable assets, they differ from cryptocurrencies, which are fungible.

Create a Cryptowallet of your choice. We recommend Metamask for Ethereum/Polygon users, and Temple or AirGap for Tezos.

Install the Browser extension or the mobile App and secure your Seed & Key Phrase somewhere safe. The best way is to write it down somewhere YOU know it's safe, or create an encrypted file on your PC.

Visit the NFT Marketplace of your choice. Here are some Examples:

Connect your wallet and you're good to go.

Explore the Marketplace via the search bar or visit me directly. Just click on the Hyperlink provided on the right and check out my collection.

Choose a NFT you really appreciate and click on Buy.

Accept/Sign the pop-up message from your wallet.

BOOM!

You got your first NFT

What about the costs?

For now, Ethereum is the most expensive of the pack. But the big projects live there. So if you want to get a "Cryptopunk", "Bored Ape" etc. You have to accept that there will be costs, but you can decide how much it will be. Costs are pretty volatile so there is a chance you get nice deal.

Where do I see the fees?

You have to check out raribleanalytics.com

They display all the information you need to monitor the costs.

The other way is to take a look at coinmarketcap.com  and check the current GasFee.

Marketplaces: openSea.io, rarible.com, foundation.app

Ethereum Website: ethereum.org

Tezos is one of the cheap options. If you’re looking for a cost-effective platform to mint your NFTs without paying outrageous gas fees, Hic et Nunc (powered by Tezos)  is definitely a good way to get into NFTs. Buying a beautiful piece of art costs less than a dollar, so you're able to collect like crazy.

It's very beginner friendly and fun to collect or mint (create) NFTs there.

Minting (creating) costs 0.08 XTZ (Tezos)

Marketplaces: hicetnunc.xyz, objkt.com, henext.xyz, nftbiker.xyz

Tezos Website: tezos.com

Another cost-effective option is Polygon. OpenSea offers you to collect and create NFTs on Polygon, which is a Gas free options for artists and a very low cost alternative to Ethereum for collectors. Also transferring a NFT to a friend costs nothing. Another upside is that you don't need Polygon/MATIC to create these NFTs. Collectors can pay with Polygon/MATIC, Ethereum and DAI, but it's up to the creator which currency they want to accept.
